Officials said the individual was 42-year-old Dangelo Ricardo Jackson, who lived on 8th Street in Gaffney. According to the Spartanburg Police Department, officers responded to reports of a person down on North Center Street during the early morning hours of February 7. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Jackson unresponsive. Emergency personnel were called, but lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful.
Mr. Jackson was officially pronounced dead at 2:26 a.m., authorities confirmed.
