Faustino Alamo Dominguez & Luis Alamo Killed in Little Village Jewelry Store Robbery

CHICAGO, Ill. — Authorities have identified the two men who were fatally shot during a robbery outside a jewelry store in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood over the weekend. The Chicago Police Department (CPD) said the incident happened around 5:49 p.m. Saturday in the 3800 block of 26th Street, after a suspect entered the store, stole several items, and fled.

Moments later, the suspect became involved in a confrontation with two men outside the business. During that altercation, both victims were shot, according to police. The gunman then escaped south on Springfield Avenue in a white SUV, prompting an urgent citywide manhunt.

Emergency crews arrived quickly, but despite their efforts, the two victims could not be saved. They were taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where they were pronounced dead. On Monday, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified them as 63-year-old Faustino Alamo Dominguez and 25-year-old Luis Alamo, both from Berwyn, a suburb west of Chicago. Family members say the two were close relatives, leaving their loved ones shattered by the tragedy.

Detectives are working tirelessly to identify and locate the suspect. Cook County Crime Stoppers has offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. Investigators have collected surveillance footage from nearby businesses, some of which shows the suspect entering and exiting the store as well as the getaway vehicle. Police are reviewing the video frame by frame and interviewing witnesses to piece together the sequence of events.

Authorities have not yet confirmed a motive for the robbery or the confrontation that followed, but investigators believe the shooting was directly connected to the initial theft. Police have increased patrols in Little Village to reassure residents and business owners, emphasizing that solving the case is a top priority for the Area Four Bureau of Detectives.

The Little Village community, known for its vibrant culture and close bonds, has been left grieving and outraged by the loss. Local leaders and residents have expressed their condolences and called for unity as the investigation continues. Police urge anyone with information—no matter how small—to contact investigators or Cook County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-535-STOP, reminding the public that every tip could help bring justice for Faustino and Luis Alamo and closure to their heartbroken family.
