26-year-old Rodney Parker killed in Targeted Shooting Outside Shively Nightclub

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A targeted shooting outside a Shively nightclub early Monday morning claimed the life of a 26-year-old man and left another hospitalized, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. Authorities say the incident, which occurred in the early hours of February 2, poses no ongoing threat to the public.

Shively Police responded to a report of a shooting at Club 7 on 7th Street Road at approximately 3:20 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found two men who had been shot outside the nightclub. Emergency responders quickly began providing aid, and one man was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, while the other was pronounced dead at the scene.

The deceased victim was identified as Rodney Parker, 26. The other man, believed to be in his 30s, sustained serious injuries but is expected to survive, according to authorities. Police have not released the name of the hospitalized man, citing ongoing investigative needs. Both men were reportedly shot during the altercation outside the club, which is located in a busy nightlife area of Shively.

Shively Police Chief and investigators confirmed that the shooting appears to have been targeted. Officials emphasized that the public is not in danger, and the incident does not appear to be random.
