TULSA, Okla. — A Tuesday evening shooting near a major Tulsa roadway ended with two people dead, according to Tulsa Police. The incident happened near Charles Page Boulevard and the Gilcrease Expressway, drawing a large police and emergency response during rush-hour traffic.
Tulsa Police said officers were called to the scene shortly after 5 p.m. after reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a 45-year-old man suffering from what investigators described as a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Nearby, a woman was also found with a gunshot wound. The scene was quickly secured as first responders rushed in to provide aid.
Tulsa Fire Department crews and EMSA paramedics began life-saving efforts on both victims at the scene. Despite those efforts, police said both individuals were transported to a nearby hospital, where they later died from their injuries. The victims were identified as Jeremy Ball, 45, and Lynse Luther, 46.
Investigators have not released details about what led up to the shooting or the relationship between the two people involved. Detectives remained at the scene for several hours Tuesday evening, collecting evidence and speaking with potential witnesses. Police said the investigation is still in its early stages, and many questions remain unanswered.
