Authorities confirmed that Elijah Benoit, of Gueydan, lost his life when the side-by-side ATV he was riding overturned and landed in a nearby canal. Deputies received a call reporting that an ATV had flipped into a canal, prompting an immediate response from law enforcement and emergency crews.
