The deadly collision happened in the early evening at a busy intersection of two major roadways, prompting a rapid response from law enforcement officers and emergency medical crews. Preliminary information released by officials indicates that a pickup truck was traveling along the highway when it collided with a mid-sized SUV at the intersection. Authorities said the SUV was attempting to turn onto the main roadway but failed to yield to oncoming traffic. The pickup truck struck the SUV, causing significant damage to both vehicles and resulting in multiple injuries.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene within minutes to render aid and secure the area. The driver of the SUV, identified as Carolynn Luce, a woman in her seventies, suffered severe injuries in the impact.
