Kimberly McWhorter Found Dead During Welfare Check in Bond Hill, Cincinnati

CINCINNATI — A routine welfare check in Cincinnati’s Bond Hill neighborhood took a tragic turn Tuesday afternoon when police discovered a woman dead inside a residence. Authorities are now working to determine what led to her death, as the case has been handed over to the Cincinnati Police Department’s Homicide Investigation Unit.

According to officials, officers were dispatched around 3:40 p.m. to the 1400 block of Yarmouth Avenue after receiving a request for a welfare check. The call was made out of concern for the well-being of a resident who had not been heard from. Welfare checks are often conducted when family members, friends, or neighbors fear something may be wrong.

When officers arrived at the address, they entered the residence and found a woman unresponsive. Police later identified her as Kimberly McWhorter, 39. Officers immediately secured the scene and requested assistance from the Cincinnati Fire Department to assess her condition.
