According to a press release from the Scott Police Department, Carter, 40, was shot during a violent encounter that unfolded in broad daylight. Officers say the shooting happened around 2:30 p.m. on December 30, 2025, in the 800 block of Delhomme Avenue. Emergency crews rushed to the scene after receiving reports of gunfire in the area.
Investigators say Carter was found suffering from serious gunshot wounds. She was quickly transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment. Despite doctors’ efforts, Carter later died from her injuries, police confirmed.
