Stratford Man Killed in Late-Night Motorcycle Crash on I-76 Ramp

Gloucester City, N.J. — The community is mourning the loss of 29-year-old Kody James Reilly, who died Saturday night in a devastating motorcycle crash on the entrance ramp to Interstate 76. The accident happened on December 6, 2025, near Exit 1C, and New Jersey State Police have since confirmed Reilly as the victim. His sudden passing has left many shocked, as investigators continue working to understand what caused the fatal crash.

Authorities said Reilly had been riding from Route 130 toward the I-76 northbound ramp when he lost control of his motorcycle. Trooper II Christopher Postorino explained that Reilly veered off the roadway and first struck a guardrail before crashing into a telephone pole. The impact was severe, and the force of the collision caused Reilly to be thrown from his motorcycle. Reports also noted that first responders were dispatched to the area around 9:30 p.m., though earlier activity was logged near Exit 1D as emergency crews attempted to reach the scene.

When police and medical personnel arrived, they found Reilly lying on Route 130 after being ejected from the motorcycle. Despite their immediate response and efforts to provide aid, Reilly was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash involved no other vehicles, and officials have not said whether speed, road conditions, or another factor contributed to the loss of control. The investigation remains active as troopers work to piece together the sequence of events.

The New Jersey State Police will continue reviewing physical evidence from the crash site, including skid marks and debris, and may examine potential mechanical issues with the motorcycle. Investigators typically gather eyewitness accounts, surveillance footage if available, and exact impact points to determine what went wrong. At this stage, officials have not released any indication of impairment or weather concerns, but they emphasize that all possibilities remain under review.

News of Reilly’s passing has deeply affected those who knew him. Friends, family, and neighbors in Stratford describe him as a young man with a bright future, now suddenly gone in an unexpected tragedy. As word spreads, many have expressed their condolences and shared memories of Reilly, hoping to comfort his loved ones during an unimaginably difficult time. Motorcycle crashes remain a painful reminder of how quickly lives can change, especially on high-speed entrance ramps where riders must adjust quickly to merging traffic.

Authorities say they will provide additional details once the investigation is complete. For now, the community honors the life of a 29-year-old man lost far too soon, as his family prepares to face the difficult days ahead.
