The Flower Mound community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 14-year-old Isha Mishra, a ninth-grade student at Marcus High School, who died after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon. The tragic crash happened shortly before 4 p.m. on December 2 at the intersection of Valley Ridge Boulevard and Browning Drive, a normally quiet area now shaken by grief.
According to Flower Mound police, officers arrived at the scene to find the young pedestrian critically injured after being hit by a 2020 Chevrolet pickup truck. Emergency crews from the Flower Mound Fire Department rushed her to Medical City Denton, but despite life-saving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the hospital. The Denton County Medical Examiner later identified her as Isha Mishra, confirming the devastating news feared by many.
Investigators say the 60-year-old driver had been stopped at a stop sign in the 6000 block of Browning Road when the teen began crossing the street. For reasons still under review, the truck struck her in the intersection. The driver, a Lewisville resident, was not injured and stayed on scene, fully cooperating with officers. As of Tuesday evening, roads around the crash site remained closed as investigators worked to piece together the sequence of events.
Lewisville ISD released a statement expressing deep sorrow over the loss of one of its students. “We are deeply saddened to confirm that a Marcus 9th Grade Campus student was killed today in an auto-pedestrian accident off campus. Our thoughts are with the family during this very difficult time,” the district shared. They added that crisis counselors are available to support grieving students and staff as they process the sudden tragedy.
For many in the community, the news is especially painful due to Isha’s young age and the unexpected nature of the accident. Parents, classmates, and neighbors have expressed sympathy, heartache, and shock as they grapple with the loss of a bright young life. The crash has also renewed safety concerns at busy intersections, especially during afternoon hours when students are commuting home.
As police continue their investigation, the Flower Mound community is coming together to support Isha’s family, honor her memory, and seek comfort during this difficult time.
