A tragic crash in Faribault on Saturday morning claimed the life of 50-year-old Jamie William Wright, after his pickup collided with the rear of a commercial crane truck stopped at a red light. The incident occurred just before 8 a.m. on November 22, 2025, at the intersection of Seventh Street and Lyndale Avenue North.
Faribault Police officers were dispatched to the scene following reports of an injury crash with entrapment. Upon arrival, they found two vehicles involved: a 2014 Chevy Silverado driven by Wright and a 2023 Peterbilt commercial crane truck operated by 25-year-old Ryan Allen Konkol of Farmington. Konkol was not injured.
Emergency crews quickly recognized the severity of the situation. Wright was critically injured and pinned inside his heavily damaged pickup. Members of the Faribault Fire Department began an extensive extrication process, working carefully to free him from the wreckage. After a prolonged effort, Wright was removed and immediately transferred to North Ambulance personnel.
He was rushed to the Faribault Municipal Airport, where a medical helicopter was waiting to airlift him for advanced care. Tragically, despite the swift response, Wright succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at the airport.
According to preliminary witness statements, the Peterbilt crane truck had been stopped at a red light heading southbound on Lyndale Avenue North at Seventh Street. Wright, also traveling southbound, reportedly struck the rear of the crane truck at a high rate of speed. Investigators have not yet determined what caused Wright to collide with the stopped vehicle.
The Faribault Police Department has confirmed that the crash remains under investigation as they continue gathering evidence, reviewing statements, and reconstructing the sequence of events. No further information has been released at this time.
The community is mourning the sudden loss of Wright, whose life was cut short in the early hours of the day. Authorities are urging anyone with additional information to contact the Faribault Police Department as the investigation continues.
