A tragic single-vehicle crash late Tuesday night on Interstate 65 in Cullman County, Alabama, has claimed the lives of 35-year-old Kristen B. Rogers of Florence and 41-year-old Danny W. Robinson of Lexington. The heartbreaking incident has left family members, friends, and loved ones mourning two lives lost far too soon as investigators continue working to determine exactly what caused the deadly crash.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the collision occurred at approximately 9:40 p.m. on May 26 near Alabama 69, about two miles southeast of Dodge City. Officials say Kristen Rogers was driving a 2012 Cadillac SRX northbound on Interstate 65 when the vehicle suddenly left the roadway under circumstances that remain under investigation. Authorities reported that the SUV struck a cable barrier before overturning along the interstate.

Investigators confirmed that both Rogers and passenger Danny W. Robinson were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Due to the force of the collision, both occupants were ejected from the vehicle. Emergency personnel and first responders rushed to the scene and worked through the night to manage the crash site, secure evidence, and assist with recovery efforts. Sadly, both Rogers and Robinson were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Cullman County Coroner’s Office.

The deadly crash occurred along a busy stretch of Interstate 65 that regularly sees heavy traffic and high-speed travel. Traffic in the area was affected for several hours as authorities investigated the scene and cleared debris from the roadway. Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and have not yet released additional information regarding possible contributing factors such as speed, mechanical issues, or road conditions.
